Hair Transplant Treatment
Hair loss treatment involves the moving of healthy hair follicles (those unaffected by DHT) from the back of your head to areas of thinned or complete scalp hair loss.
Hair transplantation is a comparatively recent method where hair follicles are surgically removed from hair bearing areas and implanted into the bald areas of the scalp. Hair transplant is carried out for male and female pattern baldness and can also be used for hair loss resulting from surgery, trauma or burns.
Most hair comes out of the scalp in groups of two or three hairs, 15% in groups of four or five hairs and some 15% comes out as a single thread. The surgeon transplants groups of these various follicle bundles of hair to imitate a natural looking hair pattern as it emerges from the scalp.
The transplanted follicles will begin producing new hair in 2-3 months and the hair transplant will be fully grown-in, or “mature,” after about one year. It is the aesthetic arrangement of these individual follicular unit grafts that enables the surgeon to create the most natural results possible from a hair transplant procedure.
Another type of hair transplant, a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is being conducted for removing and transplanting the hair with a small punch. This technique is slightly expensive than others, but avoids scar lines. Follicular unit extraction can be used when someone has a very tight scalp or whose scars do not heal well and leads to a bigger scars. This process can result in damage to the hair follicles being transplanted.
Men with male pattern baldness, people who want to restore or advance their hairline, people who want to restore or thicken moustache, beard, eyebrows and eyelashes, women with female pattern hair loss, people with hair loss due to injuries or skin diseases are among the best candidates for the hair transplantation treatment procedures. The hair implants used here are surpassed many test and researches. The patient will able to use these implants for lifetime, but hair that would be lost anyway from the donor area will behave the same when transplanted in the recipient area. So in some cases, a small percentage of this transplanted hair may be lost as the patient ages.
This is a natural phenomenon and does not have to do with a weakness in the method, but is a natural phenomenon of aging.
